We left I-80 at 191 North and headed for Farson,
Wyoming to get closer to the actual Mormon Trail. We started out the
adventure in Farson, Wyoming |
Monument Parting of the Ways
You can actually see the ruts and where the trail breaks
up. |
Parting of The Ways
Monument |
The monument tells this is where the pioneers parted those going North
for the Oregon Trail and those going South for Utah and California |
Parting of The Ways Area |
Actual ruts
Wyoming has preserved all the trails and should be
commended for it. |

South Pass
|
Just West of South Pass at Farson,
Wyoming there is a marker to the meeting of James Bridger and Brigham
Young on June 28, 1847. It was here that Bridger, not in a discouraging
manner, said he would give $1,000.00 for a bushel of corn raised in the
Great Basin, to which Brigham Young replied, "Wait a little, and
will will show you." |
Scenic Beauty
The Wyoming scene changes constantly and is beautiful.
There were still patches of snow in June and the wildflowers were
beginning
to bloom. |
Ruts |
More ruts
I loved getting out and touching these and to know many of
my great and ggreat grandparents walked there and saw what I was looking
at. |
